Denny Driscoll
John F. "Denny" Driscoll (November 19, 1855 – July 11, 1886) was an American Major League Baseball pitcher from 1880 to 1884. Driscoll played for the Buffalo Bisons, Pittsburgh Alleghenys (the modern-day Pittsburgh Pirates), and Louisville Eclipse. While playing for Pittsburgh, he led the American Association in earned run average in 1882, at 1.21. He went 13-9 that season. In 1883, he was the primary pitcher for the Alleghenys' for most of the season with an 18–21 record, and was the opening day starting pitcher. Personal life Driscoll was playing baseball professionally for local teams in Lowell and Nashua, New Hampshire by the age of 15. John Leo "Paddy" Driscoll (January 11, 1895 – June 29, 1968) was an American professional football and baseball player and football coach. A triple-threat man in football, he was regarded as the best drop kicker and one of the best overall players in the early years of the National Football League (NFL). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1965 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 1974. Driscoll played college football as a quarterback and halfback for the Northwestern football team in 1915 and 1916. In 1917, he played Major League Baseball as an infielder for the Chicago Cubs. He joined the United States Navy during World War I and played for the undefeated 1918 Great Lakes Navy football team that won the 1919 Rose Bowl. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.) John Gerald "Gerry" Driscoll III (1924 – March 12, 2011) was an international yachting champion and businessman from San Diego, California. He competed in the defense portion of four America's Cup races (1964, 1967, 1970, and 1974), and was part of the organizational effort for two others. Jack Driscoll (credited as John Driscoll in the 1933 film) is a fictional character in the ''King Kong'' franchise. In the original 1933 film he was the first mate of the ship named the ''Venture'', while in its 2005 remake he was a playwright (the less faithful 1976 remake had an analogous character named Jack Prescott, played by Jeff Bridges). Jack Driscoll (born April 1, 1997) is an American football offensive tackle and guard for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at UMass and Auburn and was drafted by the Eagles in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
