John De Mirjian
John de Mirjian (4 July 1896 – 24 September 1928) was an Armenian American glamour photographer, based in New York, and famous for his images of celebrities, sometimes in risque poses. His brother Arto de Mirjian continued the business after John's early death. Biography John de Mirjian was a glamour photographer in New York City; his studio was at 1595 Broadway. His fame began in 1922 and ended when he was killed in a car accident in New York in 1928; he was driving a Peerless roadster on the Jericho Turnpike in Long Island at 70 miles per hour, accompanied by the Broadway actress Gloria Christy, when he lost control and the vehicle left the road. He published most of his work in the magazines ''Art Lovers'' and ''Artists and Models''. His brother Arto continued the photographic business until 1950. Naked yoga (Sanskrit ''nagna yoga'' or ''vivastra yoga'') is the practice of yoga without clothes. It has existed since ancient times as a spiritual practice, and is mentioned in the 7th-10th century ''Bhagavata Purana'' and by the Ancient Greek geographer Strabo. Elmer Russell Ball
Russell Ball (24 March 1891 – 12 June 1942) was a studio glamour photographer who made stills for films and portraits of Hollywood film stars including Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo, Louise Brooks, Mary Pickford, Esther Ralston and Carol Dempster. Life Russell Earp Ball was born in Philadelphia. His father died while Russell was still a teenager; by 1910 Russell was working as a salesman for the Gas Light Manufacturing Company. He moved to New York and on 1 February 1912 he married the film journalist Gladys Hall, with whom he had two children, while working as a newspaper photographer. By 1917 he was working as a photographer, and by 1920 he had specialised into making portrait publicity stills for films, among others for the Shubert Organization. Peggy Shannon
Peggy Shannon (born Winona Sammon; January 10, 1907 – May 11, 1941) was an American actress. She appeared on the stage and screen of the 1920s and 1930s. Shannon began her career as a Ziegfeld girl in 1923 before moving on to Broadway productions. She was signed to Paramount Pictures and groomed to replace Clara Bow as the newest "It girl", whom she replaced in the 1931 film, '' The Secret Call''. Her growing dependency on alcohol eventually derailed her career. She appeared in her final film ''Triple Justice'' in 1940. In May 1941, Shannon died at the age of 34 from a heart attack, brought on by alcoholism. Her husband Albert G. Roberts shot himself three weeks after her death. Siddhasana ( sa, सिद्धासन; ) or Accomplished Pose, is an ancient seated asana in hatha yoga and modern yoga as exercise suitable for meditation. The names Muktasana (Sanskrit: मुक्तासन, Liberated Pose) and Burmese position are sometimes given to the same pose, sometimes to an easier variant, Ardha Siddhasana. Marguerite Agniel (1891 – c. 1971) was a Broadway actress and dancer, and then a health and beauty guru in New York in the early 20th century. She is known for her 1931 book ''The Art of the Body: Rhythmic Exercise for Health and Beauty'', one of the first to combine yoga and nudism. Early life Marguerite, born 21 January 1891, was one of the six children of George Agniel, an Indiana farmer, and Ada Lescher Flowers.
