John Davidson (cricketer, Born 1964)
John Edward Davidson (born 23 October 1964) is a Welsh people, Welsh former cricketer. Davidson was born at Aberystwyth in October 1964. He later studied at Trinity College, Cambridge. While studying at Cambridge, he made his debut in first-class cricket for Cambridge University Cricket Club, Cambridge University against Surrey County Cricket Club, Surrey at Fenner's in 1985. He played first-class cricket for Cambridge until 1987, making fourteen appearances. Playing as a right-arm Fast bowling, fast-medium bowler, he took 38 wickets at an bowling average, average of 36.97 and best figures of 5 for 35. One of two five wicket hauls he took, these figures came against Hampshire County Cricket Club, Hampshire in 1986. Aberystwyth
Aberystwyth () is a university and seaside town as well as a community in Ceredigion, Wales. Located in the historic county of Cardiganshire, means "the mouth of the Ystwyth". British Universities Cricket Team
The British Universities cricket team was a cricket team whose players were drawn from university students studying in Great Britain. The team played under the title of Combined Universities until 1995. The team played List A cricket from 1975 to 1998 and first-class cricket from 1993 to 2006. History Combined Universities' first matches in top-level cricket came in the 1975 Benson & Hedges Cup, a List A competition. In their first game, on 3 May, they beat Worcestershire County Cricket Club by 66 runs, thanks largely to an outstanding all-round performance by future Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who top-scored with 35 runs and took four wickets for four runs from 8.3 overs as Worcestershire were bowled out for 92 runs.
