John Dankosky (August 14) is a radio journalist and moderator, who is currentlDirector of News and Audiofor the public radio program ''Science Friday.'' During a 25-year career at Connecticut Public Radio, he founded thnational award-winningprogram ''Where We Live''. Biography Originally from Pittsburgh, Dankosky is a veteran public radio broadcaster, who began his career in 1988 at WDUQ. After moving to Connecticut in 1994, Dankosky founded the daily talk shows ''Where We Live'' and The Wheelhouse', co-founded the New England News Collaborative and its weekly news program NEXT'. ''Science Friday'' (known as ''SciFri'' for short) is a weekly call-in talk show that broadcasts each Friday on public radio stations, distributed by WNYC Studios, and carried on over 400 public radio stations. ''SciFri'' is hosted by award-winning science journalist Ira Flatow and was created and is produced by the Science Friday Initiative. The program is divided into two one-hour programs, with each hour ending with a complete sign-off. The focus of each program is news and information on science, nature, medicine, and technology. Connecticut Public Radio
Connecticut Public Radio is a network of public radio stations in the state of Connecticut, western Massachusetts, and eastern Long Island, affiliated with NPR (National Public Radio). It is owned by Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network, which also owns Connecticut Public Television (CPTV). ''Where We Live'' is the award-winning flagship news and talk program for WNPR (Connecticut Public Radio). The program is hosted by Lucy Nalpathanchil. WESA (90.5 MHz) is a public FM radio station based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The station broadcasts with an ERP of 25 kW. WESA is a full member station of NPR and is also affiliated with Public Radio International and American Public Media. History Prior to being WESA, the station had the call sign WDUQ, owned by Duquesne University. As of fall 2001, WDUQ was the most listened-to public radio outlet in Pittsburgh.
