John Crowell (Ohio Politician)
John Crowell (September 15, 1801 – March 8, 1883) was a United States House of Representatives, U.S. Representative from Ohio. Biography Born in East Haddam, Connecticut, Crowell moved to Ohio in 1806 with his parents, who settled in Rome Township, Ashtabula County, Ohio, where his father, Samuel Crowell, was the first settler. He attended the district school. He moved to Warren, Ohio, in 1822 and he attended Warren Academy from 1822 to1825. He studied law and was Admission to the bar in the United States, admitted to the bar in 1827 and commenced practice in Warren. He was also part owner and editor of the Western Reserve Chronicle at Warren. He served as member of the State senate in 1840. John Hutchins (politician)
John Hutchins (July 25, 1812 – November 20, 1891) was an American lawyer and politician who served two terms as a U.S. Representative from Ohio from 1859 to 1863. Life and career Hutchins was born in Vienna Township, Trumbull County, Ohio. He was a first cousin of future congressman Wells A. Hutchins. He attended the district schools and Western Reserve College, known now as Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio. He studied law with David Tod, later Ohio Governor. He was admitted to the bar in 1837 and commenced practice in Warren, Ohio. He served as clerk of the common pleas court for Trumbull County from 1838–43, and was a member of the State house of representatives in 1849 and 1850. He served as the mayor of Warren for two years, and was a member of the Warren Board of Education for six years. Trumbull County, Ohio
Trumbull County is a county in the far northeast portion of U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2020 census, the population was 201,977. Its county seat is Warren, which developed industry along the Mahoning River. Trumbull County is part of the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. History In the early years of the European discovery and exploration of the New World, the land that became Trumbull County was originally claimed by French explorers as part of the French colony of Canada (New France). Their settlements had some fur traders who interacted with Native American tribes in this area. After losing the Seven Years' War to Great Britain, France was forced to cede its territories east of the Mississippi River in 1763. Great Britain renamed New France as the Province of Quebec.
