John Coyne (politician)
John Coyne (July 21, 1836 – November 16, 1873) was a Canadian barrister, and Peel County's first representative in the Ontario Legislature. A native of Toronto Township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Coyne, he received his education in Brampton at Brampton Public School. He was educated as a lawyer, and called to the Bar of Upper Canada in 1864. Coyne also served as reeve of Brampton. John Coyne (writer)
John Coyne (born 1937) is an American writer. He is the author of more than 25 nonfiction and fiction books, including a number of horror novels, and his short stories have been collected in "best of" anthologies such as ''Modern Masters of Horror'' and ''The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror''. A former Peace Corps volunteer and a lifelong lover of golf, he has edited and written books dealing with both subjects, including ''The Caddie Who Knew Ben Hogan'', ''The Caddie Who Played With Hickory'', and ''The Caddie Who Won the Masters''. His most recent book is the love story ''Long Ago and Far Away''. Life Coyne was born in Chicago, Illinois. At age ten he began working as a caddie at Midlothian Country Club. John David Coyne (born 18 July 1951) is a former professional footballer who played as a striker. Active as a professional in England, the United States and Australia, Coyne made over 150 career appearances. Born in England, he played international football for Australia. Early and personal life Born in Liverpool, England, he is the father of footballers Jamie Coyne and Chris Coyne. Club career Coyne played in England for Tranmere Rovers, Hartlepool United, Wigan Athletic (scoring twice in three Northern Premier League games) and Stockport County, making a combined total of 74 appearances in the Football League.
