John Coventry (Royalist)
John Coventry (died 1652) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1641 to 1642. Coventry was the son of Thomas Coventry, 1st Baron Coventry by his second wife Elizabeth Aldersley, daughter of John Aldersley of Spurstow, Cheshire, and widow of William Pitchford. In 1641, he was elected Member of Parliament for Evesham in a by-election on 2 February after William Sandys was expelled from the House as a monopolist. He was disabled from sitting on 12 August 1642 for joining in the Commission of Array. Coventry married Elizabeth Dodington, widow of Herbert Dodington and daughter of John Coles of Barton, Somerset. John Coventry (died 1685)
Sir John Coventry (c. 1636–1685) was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1667 and 1682. Coventry was son of John Coventry (died 1652), the second son of lord keeper Thomas Coventry of Croome Park, Worcestershire. Between 1655 and 1659, he travelled on the continent with his tutor the poet Edward Sherburne. He matriculated at Queen's College, Oxford in 1660 and was made a Knight of the Bath at the coronation of Charles II, the following year. In 1667, he went with his uncle Henry Coventry to the negotiations leading to the Treaty of Breda, ending the Second Anglo-Dutch War. That year and in the following parliaments of 1678, 1679 and 1681, he was elected for Weymouth. He followed Lord Ashley in politics, and was a fairly active member. John Bulkeley Coventry
The Hon. John Bulkeley Coventry (21 March 1724 – 16 March 1801), called The Hon. John Bulkeley Coventry-Bulkeley after 1764, was a British politician, MP for Worcestershire 1751–1761. Coventry was the third son of William Coventry, 5th Earl of Coventry. Coventry was educated as a gentleman commoner at Winchester College from 1731, and matriculated at University College, Oxford in 1740, aged 16. The Honourable John Bonynge Coventry (9 January 1903 – 4 July 1969) was an English cricketer who played 75 times in first-class cricket for Worcestershire between 1919 and 1935, captaining the county for the latter part of the 1929 and the whole of the 1930 seasons, although he played in only July and August of the latter year.
