John Carlini
John Carlini is an American jazz guitarist and arranger who performs bluegrass and jazz. He has performed with David Grisman, mandolin player Don Stiernberg, singer Bill Robinson, Bucky Pizzarelli, Rio Clemente, flatpicking guitarist Tony Rice, He is an orchestrator, conductor, and five-string banjo player. He formed the John Carlini Trio in 2000. Career Carlini's father was a violinist for the New York Philharmonic and his mother was a concert pianist. Carlini served in the United States Navy and enrolled in the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He formed a friendship with David Grisman and was the musical director for Grisman's quartet. He appeared in the movie ''King of the Gypsies'' as a guitarist with violinist Stephane Grappelli. He went on tour for eight seasons as musical director of the Ice Capades. Berkeley Heights is a township in Union County, New Jersey, United States. A commuter town in northern- central New Jersey, the township is nestled within the Raritan Valley region in the New York metropolitan area. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 13,183, reflecting a decline of 224 (−1.7%) from the 13,407 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 1,427 (+11.9%) from the 11,980 counted in the 1990 Census. Berkeley Heights was originally incorporated as New Providence Township by the New Jersey Legislature on November 8, 1809, from portions of Springfield Township, while the area was still part of Essex County. Ice Capades
The Ice Capades were traveling entertainment shows featuring theatrical ice skating performances. Shows often featured former Olympic and US National Champion figure skaters who had retired from formal competition. Started in 1940, the Ice Capades grew rapidly and prospered for 50 years. A decline in popularity ensued in the 1980s, and the show went out of business around 1995. There have been several attempts to revive the show and its name. Similar traditional ice-skating entertainment shows included the Ice Follies and Holiday on Ice. History Ice Capades was founded in February 1940 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, by nine men who called themselves the Arena Managers Association.
