John Bussy
Sir John Bussy (also Bushy; died 29 July 1399) of Hougham in Lincolnshire was a member of parliament representing Lincolnshire or Rutland eleven times from 1383 to 1398 as a Knight of the Shire. He was also Speaker of the House of Commons at the three Parliaments between 1393 and 1398, during which he supported the policies of king Richard II. He was most famous for orchestrating the abdication of parliament's power to an eighteen-man subcommittee in order to concentrate power in the hands of the king's supporters.Speakers of the House of Commons from the Earliest Times to the Present Day Bussy's pre-eminence at court and execution after Richard's abdication were dramatised by Shakespeare in '' Richard II'', where he appears as one of three councillors (Bushy, Bagot and Greene) who are accused by Henry Bolingbroke (later Henry IV) of misleading the king. Hougham, Lincolnshire
__NOTOC__ Hougham () is a village and civil parish in the South Kesteven district of Lincolnshire, England, north from Grantham. The village of Marston, Lincolnshire is its closest neighbour, just under to the south. History A fair and market were both founded in 1330. The village once had its own railway station on the line between Grantham and Newark. Community Hougham church is dedicated to All Saints. It is built in Norman style, and contains a monument to Sir Hugh de Bussey, said to have been senior among the Knights Templar. The ecclesiastical parish is also Hougham, part of The Barkston and Hough Group of the Loveden Deanery of the Diocese of Lincoln. As of 2014, the incumbent is Revd Alan Littlewood.. William Le Scrope, 1st Earl Of Wiltshire
William le Scrope, Earl of Wiltshire, King of Mann (c. 1350 – 29 July 1399) was a close supporter of King Richard II of England. He was a second son of Richard le Scrope, 1st Baron Scrope of Bolton. Life He was a soldier-adventurer in Lithuania, Italy and France, where he served with John of Gaunt. Gaunt made him seneschal of Aquitaine in 1383. He was made vice-chamberlain of the household of King Richard II in 1393 and granted the castle and manor of Marlborough in Wiltshire. In the same year his father purchased for him the Isle of Man from the earl of Salisbury, giving him the nominal title ''Dominus de Man'' or King of Mann. In 1394 he became a Knight of the Garter. He was created Earl of Wiltshire in 1397 and became Lord High Treasurer in 1398. He became effective head of the government in Richard's absence.
