John Brown (basketball, Born 1992)
John Brown III (born January 28, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for AS Monaco Basket of the LNB Pro A and EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the High Point Panthers and was a two-time winner of the Big South Player of the Year in 2014 and 2016. Since graduating college, he has played in Italy and Russia. Early life Brown was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He grew up very poor in government housing in Jacksonville, moving through various one-bedroom apartments with his mother, his grandmother and his little brother. As a junior in high school, his mother gave birth to his younger brother, Ja'Ron. He subsequently became a stand-in father for his brother. Andrew Jackson High School of Advanced Technology, A Dedicated Magnet School is the oldest fully accredited high school in Duval County, Florida. It is located just north of downtown Jacksonville on Main Street (U.S. Highway 17). It opened in 1927, the same time as Riverside High School (Formerly Robert E. Lee High School). It was originally an all-white school, but the school became integrated in 1970. It is named for U.S. President Andrew Jackson, an important figure in the history of Florida, after whom the city of Jacksonville is also named. Big South Conference Men's Basketball Player Of The Year
The Big South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year is an annual college basketball award given to the Big South Conference's most outstanding player. The award was first given following the 1985–86 season, the first year the league conducted basketball competition. The most notable recipient of the Big South Player of the Year Award is Tony Dunkin.
