John Lewis Brenner
John Lewis Brenner (February 2, 1832 – November 1, 1906) was an American farmer, nurseryman, businessman and member of the United States House of Representatives from Ohio. Early life John L. Brenner was born in Wayne Township, Montgomery County, Ohio, the son of Jacob S. Brenner and Sarah Ann Matthews. His parents left Virginia because of a dislike of slavery and settled in Ohio; Jacob was a miller and farmer. John Brenner worked on his father's farm in the summer and attended the local public schools in the winter. He finished his education at the Springfield (Ohio) Academy. John Brenner married Josephine Moore and farmed in Wayne township until 1862. He then became interested in the nursery business which he pursued very successfully until 1872. In 1866, he moved to Dayton, Ohio, then emerging as a center of tobacco agriculture in Ohio, where he became a merchant in leaf tobacco. Career John L. John Brenner (born January 4, 1961) is a retired shot putter from the United States. He was the 1986 and 1987 United States champion in the shot put. Brenner competed collegiately for UCLA. He won the 1984 NCAA Championship in both the shot put and the discus throw. That year he set the collegiate championship record in the shot put at that lasted 11 years until it was surpassed by John Godina, also from UCLA, which is the current record. Revelation (band)
Revelation is an American doom metal band from Maryland. Biography Revelation started in 1986 by singer/guitarist John Brenner and drummer Steve Branagan. After numerous demos they were featured on Rise Above Records compilation ''Dark Passages''. They put out one album with Rise Above before signing with Hellhound Records. They put out two albums with Hellhound before breaking up. In 2003 Miskatonic Records released ''Frozen Masque'', which featured two demos from 1996 as well as live material. The band has played numerous shows since 2003. Some members of the band formed Against Nature in 2004. In 2007, Leaf Hound Records re-released ''Never Comes Silence'' and announced plans to reissue both ''Salvation's Answer'' and an unreleased album. Also in 2007, past line-ups performed at Baltimore's Doom or Be Doomed festival.
