John Belfield Bamber (8 June 1912 – 2000) was an English footballer who played in the Football League for Stoke City. Career Bamber was born in Preston and played for his local club, Preston North End. He failed to break into the team at Deepdale and left for non-league Fleetwood Town before signing for Stoke City Stoke City Football Club is a professional football club based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, which competes in the . It was the top division in the English football league system from the season 1888–89 until 1991–92, a century in which the First Division's winning club became English men's football champions.
