John Badham (sportscaster)
John Badham (April 1, 1937December 8, 2016) was a Canadian sportscaster and radio announcer. He did play-by-play commentary for five Canadian Football League teams for 22 seasons and announced at 24 Grey Cups. He also covered the 1976 Summer Olympics and 1984 Winter Olympics for CBC Sports, and later worked for radio stations in Peterborough, Ontario from 1988 to 2016. He was inducted into the media section of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Early career in Saskatchewan John Badham was born on April 1, 1937, in Brock, Saskatchewan, and was the son of an Anglican priest. His family moved around to several locations in Saskatchewan, then settled in Weyburn where he finished high school. He then worked at the Weyburn Mental Hospital and met his future wife, Dorothy Issac, who was a nurse. He and his wife had four children. The ''Medicine Hat News'' is a daily newspaper published in Medicine Hat, Alberta. It features a city news section, a national news section, a world news section, a sports section, a comics section, and a classifieds section. CHAM (820 AM) is a radio station in Hamilton, Ontario. Owned by Bell Media, the station broadcasts a comedy format branded on-air as ''Funny 820'', consisting of blocks of stand-up comedy bits and comedic talk shows. CHAM's studios are located on Upper Wentworth Street near Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton, while its 6-tower array is located near Binbrook. History CHAM began operations in November 1959 as a 5,000-watt station at the 1280 AM frequency under the CHIQ call letters. Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a professional Canadian football team based in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. They are currently members of the East Division of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The ''Lethbridge Herald'' is the leading daily newspaper in greater Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. It is owned by Alta Newspaper Group and also publishes and distributes a weekly newspaper, the ''Lethbridge Sun Times''. Early history On November 8th 1905, Fred E. Simpson and A.S. Bennett, both from Cranbrook, British Columbia, published the first issue of the ''Lethbridge Weekly Herald''. The paper started in a building on what is now Fifth Street South. Shortly after the launch of the ''Weekly Herald'', William Ashbury Buchanan bought a half interest in the paper, and by the end of 1906 was its sole owner. CJME
CJME is a radio station in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, broadcasting at 980 kHz. Its format is news/talk. It shares studios with sister stations CIZL-FM and CKCK-FM at 2401 Saskatchewan Drive in Regina. History CJME was founded and signed on the air on November 25, 1959, by a group of businessmen led by J. Marsh Ellis, a former radio salesman. Its original format was easy listening, but the station was not successful until it began playing top 40 music in 1963. 1974 Memorial Cup
The 1974 Memorial Cup occurred May 5–12 at the Stampede Corral in Calgary, Alberta. It was the 56th annual Memorial Cup competition, organized by the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) to determine the champion of major junior A ice hockey. Participating teams were the winners of the Ontario Hockey Association, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and Western Hockey League which were the St. Catharines Black Hawks, Quebec Remparts and Regina Pats.
