John Andreoli
John Francis Andreoli (born June 9, 1990) is an Italian-American professional baseball outfielder who is a free agent. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres. He also played for the Italian national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic and at the 2019 European Baseball Championship. Career Amateur career Andreoli graduated from St. John's High School in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, in 2008. He lettered in football and baseball. He attended the University of Connecticut, where he played college baseball for the Connecticut Huskies. In 2010, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Brewster Whitecaps and Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League, and returned to the league in 2011 to play again for Wareham. Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. They are located in Des Moines, Iowa, and are named for their Major League Baseball (MLB) affiliate. The Cubs play their home games at Principal Park, which opened in 1992. They previously played at Sec Taylor Stadium from 1969 to 1991. The club was established as the Iowa Oaks of the Triple-A American Association (1902–1997), American Association in 1969. College Baseball
College baseball is baseball that is played on the intercollegiate level at institutions of higher education. In comparison to football and basketball, college competition in the United States plays a smaller role in developing professional players, as baseball's professional minor leagues are more extensive, with a greater history of supplying players to MLB. Moving directly from high school to the professional level is more common in baseball than in football or basketball. However, if players do opt to enroll at a four-year college to play baseball, they must complete three years to regain professional eligibility, unless they reach age 21 before starting their third year of college. Players who enroll at junior colleges (i.e., two-year institutions) regain eligibility after one year at that level. Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) is the main professional baseball sports league, league in Puerto Rico; it is colloquially referred to as the Puerto Rican Winter league baseball, Winter League. Senadores De San Juan
The (lit. San Juan Senators) was a professional baseball team based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Senadores club was founded in 1938 and played intermittently in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico, the predecessor to the current Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente. For the 1984–1985 season, they were rechristened as the Metros de San Juan, a name that they conserved until the 1993–1994 tournament. The team was sold in 2004 and subsequently relocated to Arecibo. In 2010 they returned to San Juan. The Tennessee Smokies are a Minor League Baseball team based in Kodak, Tennessee, a suburb of Knoxville. The team, which plays in the Southern League, is the Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. The Peoria Chiefs are a Minor League Baseball team of the Midwest League and the High-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The team was established in 1983 as the Peoria Suns. They are located in Peoria, Illinois, and are named for the Peoria Indian tribe for which the city was named. The Wareham Gatemen are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Wareham, Massachusetts. The team is a member of the Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) and plays in the league's West Division.
