John Amboko
John Amboko (born 6 April 1985) is a former Kenyan footballer defender who is currently an assistant coach at Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi City Stars. Career Player Amboko was a long-serving captain who spent his entire playing career at Nairobi City Stars from 2003 until his full retirement in 2017, save for the 2011 season when he turned out for A.F.C. Leopards. He announced his retirement as a player following Nairobi City Stars relegation at the end of the 2016 season but later rescinded the decision to feature in the 2017 season. Coaching Alongside his playing career, Amboko coached lower-tier side Vapor Sports that was financed by his workplace Vapor Ministries up until the 2017 season. At some point in the 2017 season, he became Nairobi City Stars interim coach, then assistant coach, while the team featured in second-tier National Super League. Nicholas Ndubi Muyoti (born 8 September 1976) is a retired Kenyan. international defender cum midfielder. He is the current head coach of Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi City Stars. Muyoti is a former Kenya captain best remembered for lifting the Castle Cup trophy in 2002. Career Muyoti started out his career at lower-tier side Kenyatta Hospital F.C. while still a student at Upper Hill School. Early life Muyoti was born on 8 September 1976 in Nairobi. He went to school at Our Lady of Mercy Primary School before moving to Mumias Boys Primary School. He then proceeded to Amukura Secondary School in Busia before ending up at Nairobi's Upper Hill School. The Kenyan National Super League (also referred to as Betika Super League for sponsorship reasons ) is the second tier of the Kenyan football league system, with a promotion and relegation system with the Kenyan Premier League and FKF Division One. Some of the league's member clubs are fully professional, while others are semi-professional. The league was formed in line with the introduction of a new six-tier system by the Football Kenya Federation to take effect from the beginning of the 2014 season. Nairobi City Stars is an association football club based in Nairobi, Kenya that currently competes in the first tier Kenyan Premier League. History The club was founded in 2003 as World Hope Football Club after a majority of players followed head coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno from relegated Kawangware United. The club was formed and owned by World Hope International, a charitable organization. After one season in the Nationwide League, World Hope was promoted to the Kenyan Premier League.
