Johannes Große
Johannes Große (born 7 January 1997) is a German field hockey player who plays as a defender or midfielder for Bundesliga club Club an der Alster and the German national team. Club career Große grew up in Berlin and started playing hockey at the Zehlendorfer Wespen when he was three years old. When he was eighteen years old he left them for Club an der Alster. After three seasons in Hamburg he went to Rot-Weiss Köln for the 2018–19 season. In March 2024 it was announced he will return to Club an der Alster after the 2023–24 season. International career Große made his debut for the senior national team in November 2017 against Great Britain. In November 2018, he was selected in the Germany squad for the 2018 World Cup. He also represented Germany at the 2019 European Championship. The men's field hockey tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 24th edition of the field hockey event for men at the Summer Olympic Games. It was held from 24 July to 5 August 2021. All games were played at the Oi Hockey Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. It was originally scheduled to be held from 25 July to 6 August 2020, but on 24 March 2020, the Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of this pandemic, the games were played behind closed doors. Argentina won the previous olympic field hockey event but were eliminated in the quarterfinals. Belgium captured their first gold medal after defeating Australia in the final after penalties. India won their first hockey medal since 1980 Summer Olympics by defeating Germany in the bronze-medal match. The 2021 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 18th edition of the Men's EuroHockey Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. The German Hockey Federation ( or DHB) is the national governing body for field (and indoor) hockey in Germany. It was founded in 1909 in Bonn. 2019 Men's EuroHockey Nations Championship
The 2019 Men's EuroHockey Championship was the 17th edition of the EuroHockey Nations Championship, the biennial international men's field hockey championship of Europe organised by the European Hockey Federation. It was held alongside the women's tournament from 16 to 24 August 2019 in Antwerp, Belgium. The tournament also served as a direct qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, with the winner Belgium qualifying. The hosts Belgium won their first-ever European title after beating Spain 5–0 in the final. The two-time defending champions the Netherlands won the bronze medal by defeating Germany 4–0.
