Johann Of Brandenburg-Ansbach, Viceroy Of Valencia
Johann of Brandenburg-Ansbach (9 January 1493 in Plassenburg – 5 July 1525 in Valencia) was the second husband of Germaine de Foix and viceroy of Valencia from 1523 until his death in 1525. Biography He was a son of Frederick I, Margrave of Brandenburg-Ansbach and his wife Sophia of Poland. He married on 17 June 1519 with Germaine de Foix (1490–1538), second wife and widow of King Ferdinand II of Aragon. In 1523 the couple was appointed Viceroys of Valencia by King Ferdinand's grandson Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. The marriage remained childless. After his death Germaine of Foix remarried Ferdinand of Aragón, Duke of Calabria. Plassenburg
Plassenburg is a castle in the city of Kulmbach in Bavaria. It is one of the most impressive castles in Germany and a symbol of the city. It was first mentioned in 1135. The Plassenberg family were ministerial of the counts of Andechs (later the dukes of Andechs-Meranien) and used as their seat the Plassenburg. Ursula Germaine of Foix (french: Ursule-Germaine de Foix; ca, Úrsula Germana de Foix; ; c. 1488 – 15 October 1536) was an early modern French noblewoman from the House of Foix. By marriage to King Ferdinand II of Aragon, she was Queen of Aragon, Majorca, Naples, Sardinia, Sicily, and Valencia and Princess of Catalonia from 1506 to 1516 and Queen of Navarre from 1512 to 1516. Frederick I of Ansbach and Bayreuth (also known as Frederick V; german: Friedrich V. von Brandenburg-Ansbach-Kulmbach or ; 8 May 1460 – 4 April 1536) was born at Ansbach as the eldest son of Albert III, Margrave of Brandenburg by his second wife Anna, daughter of Frederick II, Elector of Saxony. Ferdinand, Duke of Calabria (Spanish: ''Fernando de Aragón, Duque de Calabria'') (15 December 1488 – 20 October 1550) was a Neapolitan prince who played a significant role in the Mediterranean politics of the Crown of Aragon in the early 16th century.
