Liga 2 (English: ''League Two'') is the second-tier of the football competition system in Indonesia, organized by PSSI. Before 2017, this competition was named the Liga Indonesia Premier Division (from 1994 to 2007, it was the top-tier division in the Indonesian football league system). The 2017 Liga 2 was the inaugural season of the Liga 2 under its current name, and the eighth season under its current league structure. Persebaya won the title after a 3–2 win over PSMS in the final at Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung on 28 November 2017. Overview Player regulations Starting this season Liga 2 was an under-25 tournament (born on or after 1 January 1992), with a maximum of five overage players allowed. Teams are no longer allowed to use foreign players and were allowed to have a maximum of 30 players. Format The league was divided into eight groups containing 7–8 teams each. The top two teams from each group qualified for the next round, while teams ranked fifth and below were relegated to the Liga 3. This arrangement was made to reduce the large number of participants (61) in 24 teams in the 2018 season. 2016 Indonesia Soccer Championship B
The 2016 Indonesia Soccer Championship B is the inaugural season of the Indonesia Soccer Championship B, a football competition that replaced the temporarily-suspended Liga Indonesia Premier Division. This competition started in 30 April 2016. PSCS Cilacap became champion after beating PSS Sleman 4-3 after extra time in the final. Teams Indonesia Soccer Championship B was competed for by 53 clubs from 2015 Liga Indonesia Premier Division. But later on, PS Badung Bali and Persires Rengat withdrew from the tournament. 2015 Indonesia Super League
The 2015 Indonesia Super League, also known as QNB League for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh season of the top-flight Indonesian professional league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2008. The season was planned to be started in February 2015. It was first officially announced that the 2015 Indonesia Super League would start on 1 February 2015, with verification process for the participants done in December 2014 but because of the reduction to participants to 18 teams, it was planned to start either on 21 or 22 February. After Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs, Imam Nahrawi, postponed the start of the season because of legal verifications reasons, on 23 February 2015, it was agreed that this season would start on 4 April 2015. The 2014 Liga Indonesia Premier Division season is the nineteenth edition of Liga Indonesia Premier Division since its establishment in 1994. The competition is managed by PT. Liga Indonesia (LI).
