Johan Snyman
Johan 'Joe' Snyman (born 9 July 1986) is a South African rugby union player, currently playing with French team . He was born in Evander, but went to Outeniqua High School in George. He played for the at the 2004 Craven Week, before moving to the in 2005. He was also called up to the South Africa Under 19 squad for the 2005 Under 19 Rugby World Championship, which was won by South Africa. He made 11 appearances for the Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup sides. They then sent him to the International Rugby Academy in New Zealand, where he also had a short spell at New Zealand ITM Cup team Hawke's Bay Magpies. In 2009, he moved to the , where he played in their Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup teams (including being part of the squad that won the 2011 Currie Cup Premier Division) and also played two games for in the 2011 Varsity Cup. Evander, Mpumalanga
Evander is a town in Mpumalanga, South Africa. It is approximately 8 km north west of Secunda. History The town was founded in 1955 when the Union Corporation started its mining activities and was originally part of the Bethal district (named after a town 36 km to the east). The town is named after Evelyn Anderson, the wife of Peter Maltitz Anderson, one of the directors of the corporation. Economy Gold mining The Union Corporation acquired options in the Kinross area, 64 km east of Springs. Mining started in 1955 though their subsidiary Winkelhaak Mines Ltd. The Evander mine is currently operating in its 9th shaft and employs around 3,300 people. The 2011 Varsity Cup was contested from 7 February to 11 April 2011. The tournament (also known as the ''FNB Varsity Cup presented by Steinhoff International'' for sponsorship reasons) was the fourth season of the Varsity Cup, an annual inter-university rugby union competition featuring eight South African universities.
