Joey J. Long (born July 15, 1970) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played during one season in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres. He was drafted by the Padres in the 5th round of the 1991 Major League Baseball draft. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk.
