Dio (band)
Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Dio left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice. The name Dio was chosen because it made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well known at that time. The band released 10 studio albums and had numerous lineup changes over the years, with Dio himself being the only constant member. Guitarists included Vivian Campbell, Craig Goldy, Doug Aldrich, Warren DeMartini, Tracy G, Jake E. Lee and Rowan Robertson. The band dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer at the age of 67. Dio has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. Biography Origins and ''Holy Diver'' (1982–1983) In 1982, disagreements originating over the mixing of Black Sabbath's '' Live Evil'' album resulted in the departure of Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice from the band. Ratt EP
''Ratt'' is the first official record by American glam metal band Ratt. It was originally released on the band's Time Coast label, with the help of the band's manager Marshall Berle. Background The version of "Back for More" featured on this EP is an earlier recording than the one on the album ''Out of the Cellar''. The European version also features an earlier recording of "You're in Trouble" as a bonus track, believed to feature Joey Cristofanilli on bass guitar. A cover of Rufus Thomas' "Walkin' the Dog" is also included, presumably as a nod to the 1973 Aerosmith version. It is also noted for the strong lead guitar presence of guitarist Robbin Crosby, whose trademark "blues with a twist" solos are prominent through the first four songs. An early version of "Tell the World" (which did not feature Blotzer or Croucier) was also featured on the compilation ''Metal Massacre'', but was removed from later pressings. "U Got It" often opened the show circa 1983-84, and Pearcy did the ...

Background The song was written in an abandoned building guitarist Warren DeMartini and former bassist Joey Cristofanilli were squatting in on Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. The riff was Cristofanilli's idea. On the lyrics, singer Stephen Pearcy said, "Everybody wants to be a cowboy, right? That's the whole premise of that." Music video The music video ...
