Joerie Mes
Joerie "The Shark" Mes (born March 16, 1979) is a Dutch former welterweight kickboxer, fighting out of Mike's Gym in Amsterdam. He is a former Dutch and European Muay Thai champion who later competed in K-1 MAX. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest combination specialists in kickboxing history. After his kickboxing career he worked as a history teacher in Amsterdam for several years. He is now a fulltime kickboxing coach at Mike's Gym. Biography and career Joeri grew up in Amsterdam (Amsterdam Noord). As a kid, he excelled in field hockey, as a goalie. As he felt field hockey was not for him, he tried soccer for a short while, before he got involved in kick boxing. Lommel () is a municipality and a city in the Belgian province of Limburg. K-1 is a professional kickboxing promotion established in 1993, well known worldwide mainly for its heavyweight division fights and Grand Prix tournaments. In January 2012, K-1 Global Holdings Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong, acquired the rights to K-1, and is the current organizer of K-1 events worldwide. Founded in 1993 by karateka Kazuyoshi Ishii, at its height in the late 90s and the 2000s under the ownership of the Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG), K-1 was the largest and most prestigious "Kickboxing" organization in the world. Nieky Holzken
Nicolaas Hubertus Holzken (born December 16, 1983) is a Dutch super middleweight kickboxer and professional boxer currently signed to ONE Championship, where he competes in the Lightweight division. He is the former Glory Welterweight Champion. In 2015 Kickboxing Planet voted him the Kickboxer of the Year. As of November 2021, Combat Press ranks him as the #5 welterweight kickboxer in the world. is a Japanese welterweight kickboxer and karateka competing in K-1 MAX. His real name is Takayuki Kohiruimaki. He started calling himself Taishin Kohiruimaki in 2008. Biography Young age Taishin Kohiruimaki was born as Takayuki Kohiruimaki in Misawa, Aomori, November 11, 1977. He started learning karate at the branch of Kyokushin kaikan, and then he started kickboxing at Active J, a kickboxing gym in Tokyo. Early career On January 31, 1997, he debuted as a professional kickboxer of All Japan Kickboxing Federation(AJKF), and he won his first bout by KO at 3R. On May 30, 1997, he fought and won against Masato (a future K-1 tournament champion.) Kohiruimaki won by TKO at 3R with knee strikes.
