Underground Ernie
''Underground Ernie'' is a 2006 British educational computer animated children's television series produced by Joella Productions for the BBC on both CBeebies and BBC Two, and sold internationally by BBC Worldwide. It is set in ''International Underground'', a fictional worldwide underground railway network, based on the London Underground, and focuses on the everyday adventures of Ernie, a friendly underground supervisor, Millie, his multilingual colleague, and Mr. Rails, the lovable maintenance man. The locomotives under Ernie's watchful eye all have characters of their own. There is Bakerloo, Victoria, Circle, Jubilee and the twins, Hammersmith & City. From time to time they are joined by their friends from across the world including; Paris, Brooklyn, Moscow, Sydney and Osaka. John Deery
John Deery is a British award-winning film and television drama director. Early life Deery was born in Birkenhead, Merseyside, across the river Mersey from Liverpool. Like many other directors, he started out as an actor, training at The Drama Studio, London. In between acting jobs he was a runner on commercials with some of the UK's top commercial directors. He then became a third and first assistant director before going to the National Film & Television School's Short Course Unit for Directors in 1996. Career Political film One of Deery's other passions in life is politics. He worked extensively with the film and commercials director, Hugh Hudson, during the Labour Party General Election campaign of 1992. Sid Rainey
Sid Rainey (born in 1968 in Sligo, Ireland) is an Irish musician and television producer known for Underground Ernie and his work as a musician and comedy writer. Compulsion Rainey first came to prominence as the bass player for Irish punk band Compulsion in 1990. Television production Sid Rainey has been involved in film and television in the U.K. for almost fifteen years creating animated children's television, comedy panel quiz shows, sit-coms, talk-based music interview shows, feature films and short films. He co-created and executive produced the hit cartoon series ''Underground Ernie'' which was broadcast on the BBC and in various territories around the world.
