Joel Sánchez (Mexican Footballer)
Joel Sánchez Ramos (born 17 August 1974) is a Mexican former professional football defender who last played for Veracruz. He is nicknamed "El Tiburón" Sánchez. He was on the Mexico squad that won the 1999 FIFA Confederations Cup. A strong central defender, Sanchez made his debut with Guadalajara during the 1991–92 season. He is best known for his time at Chivas, where he won 1997 Verano championship. At Guadalajara, he formed a powerful defensive core alongside Claudio Suárez, with whom he played at both club and international level. After spending a year at rival Club América, he returned to Chivas in 2000. In later years, he played for Veracruz, Dorados, Querétaro, and Tecos. He was a member of the Primera División at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, playing in the first-round games against Belgium and the Netherlands. Zapotiltic
Zapotiltic is a town and municipality in the south region of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is approximately 115 km south of Guadalajara. According to the "Conteo de Poblacion y Vivienda of 2015" the town has a population of 29,190. Toponymy Zapotiltic comes from the Náhuatl words ''Tzápotl'' (zapote) and ''tlíitic'' (black), meaning ''"place of the black zapotes"''. Bolivia hosted the Copa América for the second time in its 38th edition. It was held from 11 to 29 June. It was organized by CONMEBOL, South America's football governing body. There is no qualifying for the final tournament. FIFA Confederations Cup
The FIFA Confederations Cup was an international association football tournament for men's national teams, held every four years by FIFA. It was contested by the holders of each of the six continental championships ( AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA), along with the current FIFA World Cup holder and the host nation, to bring the number of teams up to eight. Between 2001 and 2017 (with an exception in 2003), the tournament was held in the country that would host the World Cup the following year, acting as a test event for the larger tournament. The 1998 FIFA World Cup was the 16th FIFA World Cup, the football world championship for men's national teams. The finals tournament was held in France from 10 June to 12 July 1998. The country was chosen as the host nation by FIFA for the second time in the history of the tournament, defeating Morocco in the bidding process. Tecos Fútbol Club (often referred to by its nickname "Tecos") is a Mexican professional football club associated with the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara AC. Claudio Suárez Sánchez (; born 17 December 1968) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a centre-back. Nicknamed ''El Emperador'' (The Emperor). Club career Born in Texcoco, State of Mexico and nicknamed ''El Emperador'' ("The Emperor"), Suárez began his club career with UNAM, where he played from 1988 to 1996 where he became champion in 1991.
