Joel Barcellos
Joel Dias Barcellos (27 November 1936 – 10 November 2018) was a Brazilian actor. He appeared in more than 50 films and television shows between 1955 and 1997. He starred in the 1974 film '' Sagarana: The Duel'', which was entered into the 24th Berlin International Film Festival. In 2012 it was reported that he died while swimming, but this later turned out to be false. He later died of a stroke on 10 November 2018, aged 81. Anecy Rocha (26 October 194226 March 1977) was a Brazilian actor. On 26 October 1942, Anecy Rocha was born in Vitória da Conquista, Bahia, Brazil. She was the sister of film director Glauber Rocha Glauber de Andrade Rocha (; 14 March 1939 – 22 August 1981) was a Brazilian film director, actor and screenwriter. Vitória (, ''Victory''), spelled Victória until the 1940s, is the capital of the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It is located on a small island within a bay where a number of rivers meet the sea. ''The Guns'' ( pt, Os Fuzis) is a 1964 Brazilian-Argentine drama film directed by Ruy Guerra. Synopsis The film's plot alternates between two stories, both set in the drought-stricken ''sertão'' of Northeastern Brazil in 1963. In one storyline a holy man urges a group of peasant pilgrims to follow an ox deemed as sacred in hopes that their devotion to it will bring an end to the drought. The other storyline follows a group of soldiers who are sent to the region to thwart the attempts of impoverished civilians to plunder a storehouse for food owned by the wealthy mayor of the small town of Milagres, Bahia. ''My Home Is Copacabana'' ( sv, Mitt hem är Copacabana) is a 1965 Swedish drama film directed by Arne Sucksdorff. It was entered into the 1965 Cannes Film Festival and the 4th Moscow International Film Festival. Sucksdorff won the award for Best Director at the 2nd Guldbagge Awards. In 2019, Toninho's daughter Anna de Lima Fagerlind published a book titled "My Home is Not Copacabana" about her father's experience in connection with the filming. According to the book, Toninho was nine years old when Sucksdorff came to Rio and picked him to star in the movie. Toninho was presented as an orphan street child, which was not true as he had a mother and siblings and lived in a favela house overlooking Ipanema beach, and was flown to Sweden to promote the movie. While in Sweden, a wealthy family offered to adopt Toninho, and his mother reluctantly agreed having seen his brother slide into criminality.
