Joe Young (July 4, 1889 – April 21, 1939) was an American lyricist. He was born in New York. Young was most active from 1911 through the late-1930s, beginning his career working as a singer and song-plugger for various music publishers. During World War I, he entertained the U.S. troops, touring Europe as a singer. Works An early work is the song "Way Down East" (©1910) words by Cecil Mack, music by Joe Young and Harold Norman, published by Gotham-Attucks Music Publishing Company. Joe Young (politician)
Joe Young (born c. 1947) is a Canadian political activist. He is a prominent member of the Communist League, and a frequent contributor to its newspaper, ''The Militant''. Young has campaigned for federal, provincial and municipal office in Ontario and British Columbia. Young has long been active in radical left politics. He was a member of the New Democratic Party's youth wing and the ''Young Socialists'' (the youth wing of the League for Socialist Action) in the early 1960s, and led a successful campaign to allow high school students to form political clubs. He became chairman of the Student Association to End the War in Vietnam in the late 1960s, and called for the immediate withdrawal of soldiers from that country. Young has worked in the industrial sector in his adult life, and is an active member of Canada's labour movement. Joe Young (defensive End)
Joe Young (August 3, 1933 - February 27, 2019) was an American football defensive end in the early American Football League. He played professionally for the Denver Broncos during the 1960s. Early life Young was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended Thomas Kelly High School in Chicago. He played college football at Marquette University and the University of Arizona. He was named to the All-Border Conference in 1957. Career Young was drafted in the twenty-fourth round (287th pick overall) by the Chicago Bears in the 1955 NFL Draft. He played two seasons with the Denver Broncos of the American Football League in 1960 and 1961. Joseph Michael Young (born June 27, 1992) is an American professional basketball player for Napoli of the Italian Lega Basket Serie A. The son of former National Basketball Association (NBA) player Michael Young, he played college basketball with the Houston Cougars and later the Oregon Ducks. Young earned third-team All-American honors and was named conference player of the year in the Pac-12 as a senior with Oregon in 2015. He was selected by the Indiana Pacers in the second round of the 2015 NBA draft with the 43rd overall pick. Joe Young (born Joe Lefeged, June 2, 1988) is a former American football safety. Young is better known by his former surname Lefeged. Early life Young was born Joe Lefeged in Rockville, Maryland and raised in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He attended The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland and then Northwest High School in Germantown, Maryland and was the Washington Post All-Met Defensive Player of the Year. Joe Young (1876-1898) was an award-winning Standardbred trotter from Peabody, Kansas at a time when harness racing was one of the most popular sports in the US. He was known for his speed and famous offspring, which include Joe Patchen and Dan Patch, a 1958 Harness Racing Hall of Fame inductee and the most famous horse in the world at the turn of the 20th century. Breeding Joe Young was foaled in Iowa in 1876. He was sold to William Ward as a colt. Joe Young first lived in Texas, after which he moved to Peabody Kansas. In Peabody, a man named C.E.
