Joe Shannon (chef)
Joe Shannon (24 April 1965 – 4 March 2024) was an Irish chef and television personality. Early life and career Joe Shannon was born in Coventry, UK before moving to Ireland at the age of 8 years. Shannon graduated from the Killybegs Catering College. He was the executive chef at Radisson Blu Hotel in County Sligo, where he secured many accolades including multiple AA Rossette awards foThe Brasserieand the Mount Cadet Sunday Lunch Awards. Shannon was a founding member of the North West branch of the Panel of Chefs of Ireland and served on the panel's National Executive Council. As a public figure, Shannon appeared regularly on '' Ireland AM,'' and co-hosted a midday radio show called Joe and Georgie Unplugged on '' Ocean FM''. He also co-founded the popular Facebook pageThe Recovery Tour to help and provide solace to others navigating their own personal challenges. ''Ireland AM'' is an Irish morning television show on Virgin Media One. It airs live every weekday from 07:00 to 10:00, and weekends from 9:00 to 12:00. The program features news, current affairs, weather updates, showbiz, fashion, beauty, food, health, home and garden. Ocean FM (Ireland)
Ocean FM is a local radio station that broadcasts to parts of the northwest of Ireland. The station covers the area of south County Donegal, north County Leitrim and most of County Sligo and it broadcasts into parts of south-west County Fermanagh. It started broadcasting on 1 October 2004, replacing North West Radio (NWR). The station broadcasts from Collooney (County Sligo) Locally owned and locally operated, Ocean FM serves all adults in County Sligo, South Donegal and North Leitrim. Hawk's Well Theatre
The Hawk's Well Theatre opened in Sligo Town on 12 January 1982. Located next to Sligo's tourist office, it was the first purpose-built theatre in rural Ireland.
