Joe Rosentover
Joseph Rosentover (12 January 1903 - 4 December 1973) became the manager and president of the American Association football league in 1936 and also became the president of Atlantic Coast Football League in 1963. Personal life Rosentover was born in 1903. He died at the age of 70 in 1973. American Association In 1936, when he was 33, Rosentover was made president of the newly founded American Association. In 1940 the league started to include teams from Ohio and Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the American Football Association Hall of Fame in 1983. Atlantic Coast Football League In 1963, the year after the league was started, Rosentover was made president and manager of the Atlantic Coast Football League, a league that included teams from several former AA/AFL markets (including two, the Newark Bears and Providence Steam Roller that revived former AA teams). Founded in 1936 with teams in New York and New Jersey, the AA extended its reach to Providence, Rhode Island prior to the onset of World War II. Atlantic Coast Football League
The Atlantic Coast Football League (ACFL) was a professional american football minor league that operated from 1962 to 1973. Until 1969, many of its franchises had working agreements with NFL and AFL teams to serve as farm clubs. The Orange Tornadoes and Newark Tornadoes were two manifestations of a long-lived professional American football franchise that existed in some form from 1887 to 1941 and from 1958 to 1970, having played in the American Amateur Football Union from 1888 to 1895, the National Football League from 1929 to 1930, the American Association from 1936 to 1941, the Atlantic Coast Football League from 1963 to 1964 and 1970, and the Continental Football League from 1965 to 1969. The Providence Steam Rollers (also referred to as the Providence Steam Roller, the Providence Steamroller and the Providence Steamrollers) were a professional American football team based in Providence, Rhode Island in the National Football League (NFL) from 1925 to 1931. Cosmo Iacavazzi
Cosmo Joseph Iacavazzi (some sources say Cosmo Iacovazzi, born August 18, 1943) is a former American football player. A fullback, he played college football at Princeton University and was a member of the Tiger Inn eating club. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2002. After graduating from Princeton, he was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL), but played professionally in the American Football League (AFL) for the New York Jets in 1965; Iacavazzi was on the roster for two games. He also played for the Scranton Miners of the Atlantic Coast Football League in 1965 and the Seattle Rangers of the Continental Football League in 1967.
