Joe Peyronnin
Joseph Felix Peyronnin III (born August 3, 1947) was the executive vice president and founder of Telemundo News (1998–2006), the former President of Fox News, and a former senior executive and producer at CBS News (1970–1995). He is currently an adjunct journalism professor at New York University, and has served as an Associate Professor of Journalism at Hofstra University (2011–2019). Peyronnin is a long time Trustee of Vibrant Emotional Health, overseers of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, and a Trustee of Gracie Square Hospital in New York City. He has also been a member of the Council on Foreign Relations since 1994. Personal life Joe Peyronnin was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Joseph F. ''Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them'' is a satirical book on American politics by Al Franken, a comedian, political commentator, and politician. It was published in 2003 by Dutton Penguin. Franken had a study group of 14 Harvard graduate students known as "TeamFranken" to help him with the research. The book's subtitle, ''A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right'', is a parody of Fox News' tagline "Fair and Balanced." FNC sued Franken over the use of the phrase in a short-lived and unsuccessful lawsuit, which has been credited with increasing the sales of the book, an example of the Streisand effect. ''Al Rojo Vivo'' (Red Hot) is a Spanish language news program on the American television network Telemundo, which has been broadcast on that network since 2002, replacing the long-running ''Ocurrió Así''. The name derives from the Spanish language expression meaning heated until red hot, the glowing color of an object between about 500 °C and 800 °C. As in English it can be used to indicate intense emotion or a situation ready to be shaped or forged by public opinion. The show is very similar from its Univision competitor, Primer Impacto, featuring a mix of tabloid and entertainment news, sports, weather, and human interest stories.
