The Joe Guffey House is a historic house on the north side of Arkansas Highway 110 in rural southwestern Stone County, Arkansas Stone County is located in the Ozark Mountains in the U.S. state of Arkansas. Located south of Arlberg in an area known as Old Lexington, it is a T-shaped single-story wood-frame structure, with a gable roof and foundation of stone piers. A tall gabled projection covers a porch supported by four square posts, with a pedimented gable end that has wide boards with a diamond pattern in the center, and applied bargeboard trim near the peak. The building corners are pilastered, and an ell extends to its rear. Highway 110 (AR 110, Ark. 110, and Hwy. 110) is a designation for three east–west state highways in north central Arkansas. One segment of runs east from US Highway 65 (US 65) at Botkinburg to Highway 9/ Highway 16 near Shirley. A second route of begins at Highway 16/ Highway 92 in Greers Ferry and runs east to the lake shore of Greers Ferry Lake. Stone County is located in the Ozark Mountains in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The county is named for rugged, rocky area terrain of the Ozarks. Created as Arkansas's 74th county on April 21, 1873, Stone County has two incorporated cities: Mountain View, the county seat and most populous city, and Fifty-Six. The county is also the site of numerous unincorporated communities and ghost towns.
