Joe Cronin (basketball)
Joe Cronin is an American basketball general manager for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), appointed on May 9, 2022, with a four-year contract, becoming the organization's 11th general manager. Prior to his promotion to permanent general manager, Cronin acted in the capacity of interim general manager beginning in early December 2022, following Neil Olshey's dismissal. Early career Before his job as general manager, Cronin held various roles within the Blazers organization, starting as the team's basketball operations intern in 2006, transitioning to pro scout/salary cap analyst in 2010, and eventually assuming the position of director of player personnel in 2014.
