Joe Choong
Joseph Choong (born 23 May 1995) is a British Modern pentathlon, modern pentathlete. He won the gold medal in the event at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the 2022 World Modern Pentathlon Championships, World title in 2022. Early life Choong was born in Orpington, South East London to a Malaysian Chinese father Michael Choong and a British mother Beverley, both doctors. He was privately educated at the independent New Beacon and Whitgift School. He studied at the University of Bath, where he graduated with a degree in mathematics. He also trains at the Pentathlon GB High Performance Centre located at the university. His younger brother Henry Choong, Henry is also a modern pentathlete and competed for Great Britain at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics, Great Britain at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. 2023 European Modern Pentathlon Championships
Five modern pentathlon events at the 2023 European Games were held at the Bronisław Czech Academy of Physical Education in Kraków, Poland , from 25 June to 1 July 2023. Five events were on the program under the new format of modern pentathlon. The seven-day program took place in the following order: Women's Qualification, Men's Qualification, Women's Semi-finals, Men's Semi-finals, Mixed Relay, Women's Final and Men's Final. The new elimination format only qualifies 18 athletes for the individual finals. Olympic Quotas The events are used as a continental qualifying tournament for the 2024 Summer Olympics. The top eight ranked athletes in the men's and women's individual competitions will be allocated a quota place, with a maximum of one quota place per National Olympic Committee per gender. Joe Evans (pentathlete)
Joseph Patton "Doc" Evans (May 15, 1895 – August 9, 1951) was an American professional baseball outfielder and third baseman, who played for the Cleveland Indians, Washington Senators, St. Louis Browns of Major League Baseball (MLB). Biography He was born on May 15, 1895, in Meridian, Mississippi. Evans made his major league debut with the Indians in 1915, playing 42 games for them. He spent most of with the minor league Portland Beavers, playing just 33 games for the Indians. was Evans' first as a regular, as he served as the Indians' primary third baseman. However, he batted just .190, and in , he split time at third base with veteran Terry Turner. The following offseason, the Indians traded for third baseman Larry Gardner, pushing Evans back to the bench. Team Bath
TeamBath is the University of Bath's sporting organisation. In addition to entering teams in BUCS intervarsity competitions, TeamBath has also entered teams in national leagues and competitions. Team Bath F.C. reached the first round proper of the 2002–03 FA Cup. They become the first university team to reach this stage since Oxford University A.F.C. in 1880. In 2005–06 the netball team were both founder members and the inaugural champions of the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions again in 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2013.
