Joe Bowden
Joe Tarrod Bowden, III (born February 25, 1970) is a former American football linebacker in the National Football League for the Houston Oilers / Tennessee Oilers / Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at the University of Oklahoma. Early years Bowden attended North Mesquite High School in Mesquite, Texas, where he received All-American and All-state recognition. He accepted a football scholarship from the University of Oklahoma. He didn't play in his first year because of failing to meet the requirements of Proposition 48. As a junior in 1990, he led the team in tackles with 116 (3 for loss), while making one interception, 4 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Eddie Robinson (linebacker)
Eddie Robinson (born April 13, 1970) is an American football coach and former player. College career A native of Louisiana, Robinson was born and raised in New Orleans. He attended Brother Martin High School, graduating in 1988. Robinson furthered his education, attending Alabama State University on an academic scholarship and joining the football team as a walk on. He played as an offensive guard during his first season, but eventually switched to linebacker. He earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1994. Robinson lettered in football all four years and earned All-SWAC honors and SWAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in 1990 and 1991, as well as Sheridan Broadcasting Network All-America honors in 1990 and 1991. 1994 NFL Season
The 1994 NFL season was the 75th regular season of the National Football League. To honor the NFL's 75th season, a special anniversary logo was designed and each player wore a patch on their jerseys with this logo throughout the season. Also, a selection committee of media and league personnel named a special NFL 75th Anniversary All-Time Team, honoring the best NFL players from the first 75 seasons. The Phoenix Cardinals changed their name to Arizona Cardinals in an attempt to widen their appeal to the entire state of Arizona instead of just the Phoenix area. Wilber Marshall
Wilber Buddyhia Marshall (born April 18, 1962) is an American former professional football player who was a outside linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for five teams from 1984 until 1995. Marshall played college football for the Florida Gators, was twice recognized as a consensus All-American, and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He was selected in the first round of the 1984 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears and played in Super Bowl XX. 1992 NFL Draft
The 1992 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. The draft was held April 26–27, 1992, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City, New York. The league also held a supplemental draft after the regular draft and before the regular season. A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone. Proposition 48 (NCAA)
Proposition 48 is an NCAA regulation that stipulates minimum high school grades and standardized test scores that student-athletes must meet in order to participate in college athletic competition. The NCAA enacted Proposition 48 in 1986. As of 2010, the regulation is as follows: Before a high school student can be eligible to play Division I sports, he or she must meet academic requirements in high school. Those standards include: * The successful completion of 16 core courses. * A sliding-scale combination of grades in high school core courses and standardized-test scores. For example, if a student-athlete earns a 3.0 grade-point average in core courses, that individual must score at least 620 on the SAT or a sumscore of 52 on the ACT.
