Jody Brennan
Jody Brennan (born 18 November 1983) is an Irish sportsperson. He is a hurler from upperchurch and played for Tipperary. He plays hurling with Harps GAA Auckland, most notable as the man who stopped the "drive for five v Kilkenny" in 2010, as for also breaking the timber of Laois Stalwart Tony Connolly Upperchurch–Drombane and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team. On 28 February 2010, Brennan made his National Hurling League debut as a substitute against Dublin in the 2010 National Hurling League, with Tipperary losing the game by 1–12 to 1-21. Upperchurch–Drombane GAA
Upperchurch–Drombane GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club is located in the area of Upperchurch and Drombane, seven miles from Thurles in mid County Tipperary, Ireland. They compete in hurling at both Senior and Junior A levels and in gaelic football at Senior and Junior B grade. The local GAA pitch is located approximately 1 mile from Drombane village. History It is claimed that P. J. Riordan from Drombane scored all of Tipperary's 6-8 when they beat Kilkenny in the 1895 All Ireland final. The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship was the 114th staging of Ireland's premier hurling competition since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1887. A total of thirteen teams competed in the championship, with Tipperary unseating the four-time defending champions Kilkenny by 4-17 to 1-18 in the final at Croke Park, Dublin. The 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final was the 113th All-Ireland Final and the culmination of the 2010 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, an inter-county hurling tournament for the top teams in Ireland. The match was held at Croke Park, Dublin, on 5 September 2010 and was a repeat of the 2009 final with Kilkenny taking on Tipperary. Kilkenny were attempting to win a fifth All-Ireland title in-a-row, a feat never achieved in either hurling or Gaelic football. This has been referred to as the "Drive for Five".
