Joakim Palme
Per Joakim Palme (born 18 May 1958) is a Swedish political scientist and sociologist. He is the eldest son of Olof Palme, who was Prime Minister of Sweden until his assassination in 1986, and his wife Lisbeth Palme. Career Since 2009, Palme is a professor of political science at Uppsala University. Since 2002 he has been CEO of the Institute for Future Studies. Between 2003 and 2009, he was adjunct professor of sociology at Stockholm University. In 2009 he was appointed Adjunct Professor at the Center for Velfærdsstatsforskning at the University of Southern Denmark. The Gothenburg Book Fair (also known as ''Göteborg Book Fair'', ''Bok & Bibliotek'', ''Bok- och biblioteksmässan'' or ''Bokmässan'') is an annual event held in Gothenburg, Sweden, since 1985. Walter Korpi ( Koutojärvi, Sweden, 1934) is a Swedish sociologist. Korpi is a pioneer of power resource theory. Together with the Swedish politician and sociologist Joakim Palme, he wrote the work "The Paradox of Redistribution and Strategies of Equality", which has some detractors about its principles. Assassination Of Olof Palme
On 28 February 1986, at 23:21 CET (22:21 UTC), Olof Palme, Prime Minister of Sweden, was fatally wounded by a single gunshot while walking home from a cinema with his wife Lisbeth Palme on the central Stockholm street Sveavägen. Lisbeth Palme was slightly wounded by a second shot. The couple did not have bodyguards with them. Christer Pettersson, who had previously been convicted of manslaughter, was convicted of the murder in 1988 after having been identified as the killer by Mrs. Palme. However, on appeal to Svea Court of Appeal, he was acquitted. A petition for a new trial, filed by the prosecutor, was denied by the Supreme Court of Sweden. Pettersson died on 29 September 2004, legally declared not guilty of the Palme assassination.
