Joakim Ihlen
Joakim Lund Ihlen (22 March 1899 – 15 September 1981) was a Norwegian industrialist. He was born in Skedsmo, the son of engineer and politician Nils Claus Ihlen. He was co-manager of the workshop Strømmens Værksted for nearly fifty years, along with his brother Alf Ihlen. Skedsmo
Skedsmo was a municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality was the town of Lillestrøm. About one third of the municipal population lived in Lillestrøm. Other important towns are Skedsmokorset, Skjetten and Strømmen. A smaller settlement adjoining Lillestrøm is Kjeller. The local newspaper is ''Romerikes Blad'' (circulation 39,139 in 2004). The paper comes out daily. Skedsmo municipality became part of Lillestrøm municipality 1 January 2020. Lillemor Von Hanno
Lillemor von Hanno (née Bergljot Selmer; 30 December 1900 – 5 April 1984) was a Norwegian actress, novelist and playwright. Personal life Von Hanno was born in Balsfjord, the daughter of the actress Ågot Gjems Selmer (1858–1926) and the physician Alfred Selmer (1851–1919). The family moved to Ås near Kristiania when she was two years old. She was the sister of the singer Tordis Gjems Selmer (1886–1964) and the actor Alfred Gjems Selmer (1893–1919). She married Major Otto Friedrich Wilhelm von Hanno (1891–1956) in 1927, and their marriage was eventually dissolved. In 1950 she married the industrialist Joakim Lund Ihlen (1899–1981). Career Von Hanno made her stage debut in 1920 at Trondhjems nationale Scene, and later worked at Nationaltheatret, Chat Noir and Det Nye Teater. Nils Claus Ihlen
Nils Claus Ihlen (24 July 1855 – 22 March 1925) was a Norwegian engineer and politician for the Liberal Party. He served as Foreign Minister of Norway from 1913 to 1920. Personal life He was born in Skedsmo as the oldest son of Wincentz Thurmann Ihlen (1826–1892) and Birgitte Elisabeth Mørch (1830–1913). He was a first cousin of Christian Ihlen, nephew of Niels Ihlen and Jacob Thurmann Ihlen, great-grandson of Constitutional founding father Ole Clausen Mørch and brother-in-law of Per Lund. From August 1892 he was married to actress Constance Bruun, but she died in October 1894. In February 1898 he married Colonel's daughter Henriette Marie Lund (1870–1962). Strømmens Værksted
Strømmens Værksted A/S was an industrial company based in Skedsmo, Norway, specialising in the production of rolling stock. Founded in 1873, it remains as a part of Bombardier Transportation. The plant is located just off Hovedbanen west of Strømmen Station. History The company was established as a mechanical workshop and an iron works in 1873 by engineer Wincentz Thurmann Ihlen, with the name W. Ihlen, Strømmen. The main product was railway cars, with the first being produced in 1874. The Ihlen family retained ownership of the company, with Nils Claus Ihlen taking over the works in 1883, changing the name to ''Strømmens Værksted'', and his sons Joakim and Alf Ihlen in 1908, who transformed it to a limited company. Nils Claus Ihlen would later become Minister of Labour, overseeing the opening of the Bergen Line among others. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works.
