Joah (song)
"Joah" is a song by Korean–American recording artist Jay Park, released on April 10, 2013, worldwide on iTunes and domestically in Korea as a three-track digital single of the same name. The other songs on the single are "1 Hunnit", and "Welcome". The lyrics are written by Park, and the song was produced by fellow Art of Movement member, Cha Cha Malone. In Korean, "Joah" translates literally to "like" ( ko, 좋아; Revised Romanization: ''Joha''), or in context of the song, "I like you". Background and composition Park was inspired to write the song by the change of season in Korea from winter to spring, with the weather getting warmer and warmer. He wanted to make a feel good, old-school song, with inclusion of a brass band, and was influenced by The Jackson 5. The live band of ''Saturday Night Live Korea'', Common Ground, provided the in-session instrumentals. Jay Park
Jay Park ( Korean name: Park Jae-beom (Hangul: 박재범; Hanja: 朴載範); born April 25, 1987) is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, record producer, dancer and entrepreneur of based in South Korea. He is a member of the Seattle-based b-boy crew Art of Movement (AOM), and founder and former CEO of the independent hip hop record labels AOMG and H1ghr Music, as well as the founder of the record label More Vision. Park initially rose to fame as the leader of South Korean boy band 2PM, formed by record label JYP Entertainment in 2008, after having previously been a trainee for four years. In September 2009, Park returned home to Seattle after comments he wrote about Korea in 2005 as a teenager were publicized by the Korean media, officially leaving the group. Session musicians, studio musicians, or backing musicians are musicians hired to perform in recording sessions or live performances. The term sideman is also used in the case of live performances, such as accompanying a recording artist on a tour. Revised Romanization of Korean () is the official Korean language romanization system in South Korea. It was developed by the National Academy of the Korean Language from 1995 and was released to the public on 7 July 2000 by South Korea's Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Proclamation No. 2000-8. The new system addressed problems in the implementation of the McCune–Reischauer system, such as the phenomena where different consonants and vowels became indistinguishable in the absence of special symbols. Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music.
