Joachim Boldsen
Joachim Boldsen (born 30 April 1978) is a Danish former team handball player. He is European Champion by winning the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship with the Danish national handball team. Boldsen recently played for KIF Kolding København, and has previously played for Danish Handball League side AaB Håndbold and Spanish league side FC Barcelona. Career Club career In Boldsen's earliest career, he played for such clubs as Helsingør IF (from 1993), GOG Gudme (two seasons, 1997–1999), TV Großwallstadt (two seasons, 1999–2001), and Ajax Farum. From 2001 to 2007, he played with the German first league team SG Flensburg-Handewitt, helping them to win their first championship in 2004. He won the ''DHB-Pokal'' with Flensburg in 2003, 2004 and 2005. In 2007, he changed to Danish Handball League team AaB Håndbold for a single season before switching to FC Barcelona Handbol. Helsingør
Helsingør ( , ; sv, Helsingör), classically known in English as Elsinore ( ), is a city in eastern Denmark. Helsingør Municipality had a population of 62,686 on 1 January 2018. Handball At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's Team handball, handball tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held from August 10 to August 24, at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium and National Indoor Stadium in Beijing. Twelve nations are represented in the men's tournament. The four best teams from each group advanced to the quarterfinal round, 5th and 6th teams in each group are classified 9th-12th by the results of their group matches. The losers of quarterfinal matches competed in the 5th-8th place matches by the same elimination system as the winners of the quarterfinals. This event was the last to be completed in the 2008 Summer Olympics. The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. The Handball-Bundesliga (HBL) is the top German professional handball league. From 2007 onwards, the league was sponsored by Toyota and has officially been called the ''Toyota Handball-Bundesliga''. Liga Asobal is the premier professional handball league in Spain. It was founded in 1958 with the name of División de Honor, changing its name to the current name in 1990. Danish Handball League
The Danish Men's Handball League, formerly known as Herrehåndboldligaen is the men's top Danish professional handball league. The winners of the Danish Men's Handball League are recognised as the Danish men's handball champions. The current champions are GOG Håndbold. Season The Danish Men's Handball League season consists of 14 teams, each playing 26 regular season games. The eight best teams of the regular season advance to further games, where they are divided into two groups of four teams each. No. 1 and 2 from the regular season start with 2 points. European Handball Federation
The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year.
