Jo Lutz
Jo Lutz (born 3 August 1980 in Perth, Western Australia) is an Australian former rower, a three-time world champion. Club and state rowing Lutz's senior club rowing was done from the Swan River Rowing Club in Perth. She was awarded a scholarship to the AIS prior to her 2001 World Championship success. She raced in composite crews in Swan River Rowing Club colours contesting national titles at the Australian Rowing Championships – in 2006 & 2007 in the coxless pair, coxless four and the women's eight and in 2008 in the coxless four. Lutz was first selected to represent Western Australia in the state youth eight contesting the Interstate Regatta within the Australian Rowing Championships in 1998 and again in 2000. Rowing (sport)
Rowing, sometimes called crew in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars are attached to the boat using oarlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower holds two oars—one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands. There are several boat classes in which athletes may compete, ranging from single sculls, occupied by one person, to shells with eight rowers and a coxswain, called eights. There are a wide variety of course types and formats of racing, but most elite and championship level racing is conducted on calm water courses long with several lanes marked using buoys. Jane Robinson (born 12 December 1969 in Cobden, Victoria) is an Australian former rower - a national champion, three-time World Champion and triple Olympian. She competed at the Summer Olympics in 1996, 2000 and 2004; and at World Rowing Championships in 1997, 1998, 2001, 2002, and 2003. She won World Championships as both a sculler and a sweep-oared rower. She attended Toorak College in Mount Eliza, Victoria. Rowing is the act of propelling a human-powered watercraft using the sweeping motions of oars to displace water and generate reactional propulsion. Kate Hornsey (born 19 October 1981, in Hobart) is an Australian former three-time world champion, dual Olympian and Olympic silver medal-winning rower. Club and national rowing Hornsey took up rowing when she was 12 years old in New Norfolk, Tasmania. Her senior rowing was from New Norfolk club and the Mercantile Rowing Club in Melbourne. Amber Bradley (born 19 May 1980 in Wickham, Western Australia) is an Australian former rower - a six time Australian national sculling champion, a two time World Champion, dual Olympian and an Olympic medal winner. She won her World Championships in both sculling and sweep-oared boat classes. Club and state rowing Bradley was educated at Penrhos College, Perth where she took up rowing. She is a national champion, a three-time world champion and an Olympian whose international success came in sweep-oared heavyweight crews. She was selected in representative Victorian state eights to compete for the Queen's Cup in the Interstate Regatta at the Australian Rowing Championships on ten occasions between 2002 and 2012. Catriona Sens (née Oliver) (born 2 April 1980 in Sale, Victoria) is an Australian former representative rower.
