Jnanabharathi is an elevated metro station on the East-West corridor of the Purple Line (Namma Metro), Purple Line of Namma Metro serving the Bangalore University campus along with Dhanvantri Vana park in Bangalore, India. This was inaugurated on 29 August 2021 and was commenced to the public on 30 August 2021. Station layout Entry/Exits There are 3 Entry/Exit points – A, B and C. Namma Metro ("Our Metro" in Kannada), also known as Bengaluru Metro, is a rapid transit system serving the city of Bengaluru, India. Upon its inauguration, it became the first underground metro system in South India. Namma Metro has a mix of underground, at grade, and elevated stations. Out of the operational 52 metro stations of Namma Metro as of November 2022, there are 43 elevated stations, 8 underground stations and 1 at-grade station. The system runs on standard-gauge tracks. Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), a joint venture of Government of India and the State Government of Karnataka, is the agency for building, operating and expanding the Namma Metro network. Services operate daily between 05:00 and 23:00 running with a headway varying between 4–20 minutes. The trains initially began with three coaches but were later converted to six coaches as ridership grew. Power is supplied by 750 volt direct current through third rail.
