Jiří Zimola
Jiří Zimola (born 28 March 1971) is a Czech Republic, Czech Czech Social Democratic Party, Social Democrat politician, who served as Governor of the South Bohemian Region from 2008 until his resignation in 2017. Zimola left the Social Democratic Party in 2020 and became leader of a new party called Change 2020. Biography He studied at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, working as a teacher after he finished his studies. Political career Zimola entered politics in 1998 and became Mayor of Nová Bystřice. He became a member of the Czech Social Democratic Party in 2000. In 2008, Zimola became Governor of the South Bohemian region and gave up his position as Mayor. He was forced to resign in 2017 due to a controversy related to his cottage at Lipno nad Vltavou. Chamber Of Deputies Of The Czech Republic
The Chamber of Deputies, officially the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic ( cs, Poslanecká sněmovna Parlamentu České republiky), is the lower house of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The chamber has 200 seats and deputies are elected for four-year terms using the party-list proportional representation system with the D'Hondt method. Since 2002, there are 14constituencies, matching the Czech regions. A Cabinet is answerable to the Chamber of Deputies and the Prime Minister stays in office only as long as they retain the support of a majority of its members. The quorum is set by law to one third (67) of elected deputies. Any changes to the constitutional laws must be approved by at least 60 percent of the Chamber of Deputies. 2017 Czech Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in the Czech Republic on 20 and 21 October 2017. All 200 members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected and Andrej Babiš of ANO 2011, also the leader of the resultant government, became the Prime Minister. The coalition government following the 2013 legislative election consisted of the two largest parties: the Czech Social Democratic Party (ČSSD) of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, and ANO 2011 (ANO), led by former Finance Minister and businessman Andrej Babiš, alongside the Christian and Democratic Union – Czechoslovak People's Party (KDU–ČSL).
