Jinkx Monsoon
Jerick Roman Lamar Hoffer (born September 18, 1987), better known by the stage name Jinkx Monsoon, is an American drag performer, actor, comedian and singer best known for winning the fifth season of ''RuPaul's Drag Race'' and the seventh season of '' RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars'', becoming the first person to win two seasons of the show across its iterations. Their first studio album, '' The Inevitable Album'', was released in 2014, followed by their second studio album, '' The Ginger Snapped'', in 2018. Jinkx currently appears in the WOW Presents Plus original, ''Sketchy Queens'', a series they created alongside Liam Krug. Early life Jerick Hoffer was born in Portland, Oregon, and first performed in drag at age 15 at the all-ages Escape Nightclub. The Inevitable Album
''The Inevitable Album'' is a debut studio album by American drag performer Jinkx Monsoon, released by Sidecar Records on May 6, 2014. Composition The album has original tracks written for Jinkx Monsoon by her music collaborator Richard Andriessen. Fred Schneider is featured on two of the tracks. According to David Clarke of Broadway World, the tracks "come across as both a homogeneous and eclectic blend of music". The album was inspired by Bette Midler's debut studio album ''The Divine Miss M'' (1972) and torch songs by Marlene Dietrich and Peggy Lee, as well as Lady Rizo, Amanda Palmer, and Regina Spektor for the album. "Ladies in Drag" was described by Clarke as a "gutsy and perfectly phrased re-tooling" of " The Ladies Who Lunch", a song from the Broadway musical ''Company'' written by Stephen Sondheim and introduced by Elaine Stritch. ''Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel'' is a 2011 pop-art musical comedy from cult filmmaker, Wes Hurley. It stars the renowned performance artist, Marc Kenison as his gender-bending burlesque personae Waxie Moon, as well as The Stranger Genius-award winners, Sarah Rudinoff, Marya Sea Kaminski and John Osebold, Nick Garison, Keira McDonald, Sage Price, Brandon Petty, Erin Emlyn Badenhop, Inga Ingenue, Lou Henry Hoover, with memorable cameos by Jinkx Monsoon, Lynn Shelton and Jackie Hell, among others. Ulysses S. Grant High School (commonly Grant High School) is a public high school in the Grant Park neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. History Ulysses S. Grant High School opened in September 1924, with 1,191 students. Many of the schools in the Portland Public School district that were built between 1908 and 1932 were designed by architects Floyd Naramore and George Jones. During the early 1920s, so many schools were being built simultaneously in Portland, the district had to hire another architectural firm to design Grant High School, which is in the Classical Revival style by architects Knighton and Howell. In November 1923, the bricklayers working on Grant went on strike after the district tried to cut costs by using a maintenance worker to lay bricks.
