Meredith Cody Jinks (born August 18, 1980) is an American outlaw country music singer and songwriter. Frederick Tyson Jinks (24 November 1880 – 9 February 1940) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton in the Victorian Football League The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It ... during the early 1900s. Originally from VFA club Footscray, Jinks was recruited by Carlton in 1906. Although he spent only four seasons with Carlton, he played in a Grand Final each year for three premierships. He played mainly in the ruck but was also used as a half forward flanker. John Jinks (4 May 1871 – 11 September 1934) (often known as Alderman Jinks from his position as an Alderman on Sligo Corporation) was an Irish politician who served in Dáil Éireann from June to August 1927. Biography He was born as John Jenk, to Patrick Jenk (also Jinks), a farmer, and Bridget Gilmartin, of Drumcliff, County Sligo. An auctioneer and licensed grocer, he was elected to Dáil Éireann as Teachta Dála (TD) for the 7-seat Leitrim–Sligo constituency at the June 1927 general election for the National League Party. He is most famous for his absence, on 16 August 1927, from a crucial vote. The Labour Party had proposed a motion of no confidence in the Cumann na nGaedheal Executive Council. They proposed an alternative coalition government with the National League, supported by Fianna Fáil, which had just entered the Dáil. Sue Jinks-Robertson is an American professor of genetics and microbiology. She is currently a professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the Duke University School of Medicine. In May 2019, she was elected to the National Academy of Sciences. She has published over 100 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. Education and academic appointments Jinks-Robertson grew up in the Florida panhandle.
