Jimone
''Jimone'' was the first release by Mancunian band James, released in November 1983 by Factory Records. It contained three tracks that also later appeared on the band's '' Village Fire'' EP. Fire So Close being a slightly different mix from the 7" version. According to the band's biography ''Folklore'' by Stuart Maconie, the band were fearful of tarnishing their best songs in the studio, so instead opted to record the three songs they felt were their worst. The track "What's The World" has been covered by The Smiths (live recording on "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish"). It has remained popular among die-hard James fans to the present day and was still occasionally being featured in setlists as late as 1998. "Folklore" lent its name to Stuart Maconie's biography of the band in 2000, while "Fire So Close" was later radically reworked under the title of "Why So Close" on the band's debut 1986 album ''Stutter''. Village Fire is the third EP by James, released in 1985 by Factory Records. It contains all five tracks from their previously released EPs ''Jimone'' (side A) and ''James II'' (side B). Stutter (album)
''Stutter'' is the debut studio album by English rock band James. Blanco y Negro and Sire Records released it on 28 July 1986. After going through multiple vocalists and guitarists, the band caught the attention of Factory Records. James released two EPs with the label; between them Larry Gott replaced guitarist Paul Gilbertson. The band supported the Smiths twice, before eventually signing with Sire. Between January and March 1986, the band recorded ''Stutter'' with Patti Smith live guitarist Lenny Kaye and engineer Gil Norton. Described as a folk rock album, the songs on ''Stutter'' tackle the topics of insects, reincarnation and being a tortured artist. ''Stutter'' received generally positive reviews from music critics, some of whom commented on James' musicianship. It peaked at number 68 in the United Kingdom, to the annoyance of Sire. I Started Something I Couldn't Finish
"I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" is a song by the English rock band the Smiths, written by singer Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr. The song was released on the group's 1987 album ''Strangeways, Here We Come''. Featuring a glam rock-inspired guitar riff, the song emerged from a jam during the "Sheila Take a Bow" sessions. Jim Glennie
James Patrick Glennie (born 10 October 1963) is the bassist for and eponym of English rock band, James. He is the band's longest-serving member—having been there from the first line-up through to the present day—and now only remaining original member. He was born in Moss Side, Manchester. He never really had an interest in music in his youth, but his childhood best friend Paul Gilbertson managed to change his mind after convincing him to buy a bass guitar. Two weeks later they played their first concert at Eccles Royal British Legion club, in which their singer did not show up. Glennie offered himself up to sing instead, and the club manager pulled the plug halfway through their second song, demanding they stopped playing. Timothy John Booth (born 4 February 1960) is an English singer-songwriter, actor and dancer. He is the lead singer and co-founder of the indie rock band James, and co-wrote several of their hit singles including " Sit Down", " Come Home", and " Laid". As an actor, Booth is best known for portraying Victor Zsasz in the 2005 film ''Batman Begins''. The Smiths

Strawberry Studios
Strawberry Studios was a recording studio in Stockport, England. Founded in 1968, it operated until the early 1990s. Formation The facility was originally called Inter-City Studios and located above a music store in the town centre. In early 1968 it was bought by Peter Tattersall, a former road manager for Billy J. Kramer and the Dakotas. Tattersall invited Eric Stewart, then lead guitarist and singer of the Mindbenders and later a member of 10cc, to join him as a partner in July 1968. The pair moved to larger premises at No. 3 Waterloo Road in October, with Stewart choosing the studio's new name in honour of his favourite Beatles song, "Strawberry Fields Forever". Within months songwriter and future 10cc member Graham Gouldman joined the pair as an investor.
