Ernest Alfred Henry Remnant (16 September 1910 – 8 October 1973), known professionally as Jimmy Wheeler, was a British variety theatre comedian and pioneer of radio and television. Earlier in his career he worked with his father in the double act Wheeler and Wilson. Life and career He was born in Battersea, London, and as a child had violin lessons and learned to dance. Jimmy Wheeler (footballer)
James Wheeler (21 December 1933 – 20 February 2020) was an English footballer. He played as striker for Reading where he played 406 league games, scoring 147 goals. He later became a coach at Reading and then manager of Bradford City. Playing career Wheeler had a prominent career in schoolboy football and two years as an amateur at Spartan League side Huntley & Palmers. He moved to hometown club Reading where he played for 16 years, scoring 147 goals in 406 league games. He was the club's top scorer for three successive seasons from 1958–59 to 1960–61. He broke his leg at Barnsley in September 1964, which effectively ended his league career. He continued to play and coach Reading reserves and became assistant manager of the club to Roy Bentley. Floyd James Wheeler (born November 8, 1953) is an American businessman and politician from the state of Nevada. A member of the Republican Party, Wheeler served in the Nevada Assembly, representing the 39th district. Early career Wheeler was the chief executive officer of Powerdyne Automotive Products. Nevada assembly Assemblyman Wheeler first ran for the Nevada Assembly in 2010, seeking to replace James Settelmeyer, who was not running for reelection. However, Kelly Kite won the election. Wheeler was first elected in 2012, defeating Kelly Kite. Tenure Assembly Bill 86 was a bill that would have reduced the minimum age to gamble from 21 to 18. Wheeler supported the bill. ''Jim in Bold'' is a documentary about Jim Wheeler, a gay high school student in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, who died by suicide in 1997 because of constant harassment at school. The film was created by the Equality Forum and directed by Glenn Holsten. The original music was composed by Michael Aharon. Synopsis The film, titled after a poem by Wheeler, details the abuse he received at the hands of his classmates because of his homosexuality. It also presents interviews and a cross-nation road-trip with members of '' Young Gay America'', an online teen organization for gays, and compares the teasing and physical abuse Jim suffered to the increasingly open attitudes towards homosexuality six years later when the film was first shown.
