Jim In Bold
''Jim in Bold'' is a documentary about Jim Wheeler, a gay high school student in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, who died by suicide in 1997 because of constant harassment at school. The film was created by the Equality Forum and directed by Glenn Holsten. The original music was composed by Michael Aharon. Synopsis The film, titled after a poem by Wheeler, details the abuse he received at the hands of his classmates because of his homosexuality. It also presents interviews and a cross-nation road-trip with members of '' Young Gay America'', an online teen organization for gays, and compares the teasing and physical abuse Jim suffered to the increasingly open attitudes towards homosexuality six years later when the film was first shown. Michael Glatze
Michael Elliot Glatze (; born 1975) was the co-founder of '' Young Gay America'' and a former advocate for gay rights. He subsequently renounced homosexuality and became an evangelical Christian pastor. Biography Glatze was born in Tacoma, Washington. His mother was a non-denominational Christian and his father was agnostic.Nicolos, Joseph. His father died of a heart condition when Glatze was 13, and his mother died when he was 19. Glatze earned a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College where he majored in English literature and creative writing, with a minor in music. While working at ''XY Magazine'' in San Francisco, Glatze met Benjie Nycum. Glatze and Nycum coauthored the book ''XY Survival Guide'' (2000).
