Jimmy Sandison
Jimmy Sandison (born 22 June 1965) is a Scottish former footballer best known for his time spent at Heart of Midlothian and Airdrieonians. Career Sandison was brought up in the Pennywell area of Edinburgh and attended school locally. He signed for Hearts at the age of 17. During his time with Hearts he was a reliable and versatile player. A highlight was his man-marking Herbert Prohaska, who was one of Europe's finest players at the time, out of the game in a European tie against Austria Vienna. The ''Jam Tarts'' won 1–0 in Austria. He was purchased for £100,000 in 1991 by Airdrie manager Alex McDonald, who had been his manager at Hearts. Sandison was McDonald's first signing and was also made team captain. Soon after his move to Airdrie, Sandison was at the centre of a controversial refereeing decision in a 1991–92 Scottish League Cup semi final. 1995 Scottish Cup Final
The 1995 Scottish Cup Final was played between Celtic and Airdrieonians at Hampden Park on 27 May 1995. Celtic won the match 1–0, with a goal by Pierre van Hooijdonk who headed in after a cross from the left by Tosh McKinlay. This would prove to be the last occasion that the original Airdrieonians reached the final, with the club folding in 2002. Henry Smith (goalkeeper)
Henry George Smith (born 10 March 1956) is a Scottish former footballer, who played as a goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career with Heart of Midlothian. He made his debut for Hearts in a League Cup win over Airdrie at Broomfield in 1981. He won three caps for Scotland between 1988 and 1992 against Saudi Arabia, Northern Ireland and Canada and was part of the Scotland squad at Euro 92. He was perhaps unfortunate to play during a time when Scotland had the services of Jim Leighton and Andy Goram, which restricted his opportunities at international level. Additionally, he played two matches for the under-21s as an overage player. Smith played in the Home Nations Masters Tournament in March 2009. At 53 years of age, he was the oldest player in the tournament. Gary Faye Locke (born January 21, 1950) is an American politician and diplomat serving as the interim president of Bellevue College, the largest of the institutions that make up the Washington Community and Technical Colleges system. Locke served as the 21st governor of Washington (1997–2005), the 5th King County Executive (1994–1997), the 10th United States ambassador to China (2011–2014), and the United States Secretary of Commerce (2009–2011). John Robertson (footballer Born 1964)
John Grant Robertson (born 2 October 1964) is a Scottish professional football coach and former player, who is currently the sporting director of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. His playing career included spells at Newcastle United, Dundee and Livingston, but he is best known for his two spells at Heart of Midlothian totalling about 18 years, where he is the club's all-time leading goalscorer. He has since managed Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Heart of Midlothian, Ross County, Livingston, Derry City and East Fife. ''Trainspotting'' is the first novel by Scottish writer Irvine Welsh, first published in 1993. It takes the form of a collection of short stories, written in either Scots, Scottish English or British English, revolving around various residents of Leith, Edinburgh who either use heroin, are friends of the core group of heroin users, or engage in destructive activities that are effectively addictions. The novel is set in the late 1980s and has been described by ''The Sunday Times'' as "the voice of punk, grown up, grown wiser and grown eloquent".
