James Mullen (CEO)
James C. “Jim” Mullen (born ca. 1958) was the president and CEO of Biogen Idec until he retired effective June 8, 2010. At the same time, he started he would retire from the board at the end of his term. In 2011, he was named CEO to drug manufacturer Patheon, based in Durham, North Carolina, as well as to their board. He stayed there until August 29, 2017. Education Mullen has a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Master of Business Administration from Villanova University. He has been a trustee at Villanova since 2001. Biogen Mullen began his tenure at Biogen in 1992 and worked his way up the ladder. Jim Mullen (born 26 November 1945) is a Scottish, Glasgow-born jazz guitarist with a distinctive style, like Wes Montgomery before him, picking with the thumb rather than a plectrum. Biography Jim Mullen was guitarist with Pete Brown & Piblokto! for two albums in 1970. He then played with Brian Auger's Oblivion Express, appearing on the band's first three albums together with future Average White Band drummer Robbie McIntosh. Mullen then joined Kokomo and later toured with the Average White Band. It was while both musicians were touring the United States with AWB in the mid-1970s that Mullen met tenor saxophone player Dick Morrissey, and throughout the 1980s, he found critical notice as joint leader of the British jazz funk band Morrissey–Mullen. James Mullen (6 January 1923 – 23 October 1987) was an English international footballer who played as an outside left. Mullen spent his whole career at Wolverhampton Wanderers where he won three English Football League championships and the FA Cup. He also represented the England national team at both the 1950 and 1954 World Cup. Career Mullen joined the Midlanders in June 1937, turned professional on his 17th birthday, and remained with the club until his retirement in May 1960. His league debut came in February 1939, in a 4–1 win over Leeds United. James Mullen (born 8 November 1952 in Jarrow, County Durham) is an English football manager who last managed at Market Drayton Town. He twice won promotion with Burnley, in 1991–92 and 1993–94. Playing career In his playing days, Mullen spent most of his career at Sheffield Wednesday, and was their captain when they won promotion from Division Three in 1979/80. The following season, however, he went one better with Rotherham, captaining the Millers to the Division Three title.
