Jimmy Janes
Jimmy Janes (July 17, 1947–September 1, 2020) was an American comics artist and storyboard artist best known for his work on DC Comics' '' Legion of Super-Heroes'' series. Early life Jimmy Janes was born July 17, 1947 on Staten Island, New York and graduated from the High School of Art and Design in Manhattan. Career His first published work in the comics industry appeared in ''Greaser Comics'' #2 (1972), an underground comix published by Rip Off Press. He then drew stories for Charlton Comics, Marvel Comics, and Warren Publishing over the course of the next several years. Janes began working for DC Comics in 1980 when he became the penciller of the '' Legion of Super-Heroes'' as of #263 (May 1980). He drew 15 issues of that series including " The Exaggerated Death of Ultra Boy" storyline as well as the ''Secrets of the Legion of Super-Heroes'' limited series. In the field of comic books, a limited series is a comics series with a predetermined number of issues. A limited series differs from an ongoing series in that the number of issues is finite and determined before production, and it differs from a One-shot (comics), one shot in that it is composed of multiple issues. The term is often used interchangeably with miniseries (mini-series) and maxiseries (maxi-series), usually depending on the length and number of issues. In Dark Horse Comics' definition of a limited series, "this term primarily applies to a connected series of individual comic books. A limited series refers to a comic book series with a clear beginning, middle and end". In visual arts, a model sheet, also known as a character board, character sheet, character study or simply a study, is a document used to help standardize the appearance, poses, and gestures of a character in arts such as animation, comics, and video games. Model sheets are required when multiple artists are involved in the production of an animated film, game, or comic to help maintain continuity in characters from scene to scene. In animation, one animator may only do one shot out of the several hundred that are required to complete an animated feature film. A character not drawn according to the production's standardized model is referred to as off-model. Model sheets are also used for references in 3D modeling to guide proper proportions of models. Moon Knight
Moon Knight is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, the character first appeared in ''Werewolf by Night'' #32 (August 1975). The son of a rabbi, Marc Spector served as a Force Recon Marine and briefly as a CIA operative before becoming a mercenary alongside his friend Jean-Paul "Frenchie" DuChamp. Boleslav William Felix Robert Sienkiewicz ( ; born May 3, 1958) is an American artist known for his work in comic books—particularly for Marvel Comics' ''New Mutants'', '' Moon Knight,'' and '' Elektra: Assassin''. Brent Anderson (born June 15, 1955) is an American comics artist known for his work on '' X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills'' and the comic book series ''Astro City''. Early life In junior high school, Brent Anderson discovered the pantheon of characters in Marvel Comics. The first Marvel comic he read was ''Fantastic Four'' #69, "By Ben Betrayed" (Dec. 1967), "They were a family who had super-powers and helped each other out. Michael Netzer (born 9 October 1955) is an American-Israeli artist best known for his comic book work for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s, as well as for his online presence. Early life Michael Nasser (later Netzer) was born in Detroit, Michigan, U.S. His father was Adel Nasser a-Din, a Druze doctor of philosophy who worked most of his life in a Ford factory. His mother, Adele Ghazali, is a daughter to a Druze-Lebanese father and a Jewish-Lebanese mother who settled in New York in the 1920s.
