Jimmy Holmes (footballer, Born 1954)
James Black Holmes (born 8 December 1954) is a Scottish former footballer. Career Holmes began his career at junior club Muirkirk, before moving into the senior game with Partick Thistle before becoming a legend at Greenock Morton. He won three Scottish First Division winners medals: 1977–78, 1983–84 and 1986–87. In May 1987, after being voted the SPFA First Division Footballer of the Year, he captained the Scottish semi-professionals in an end of season tournament against Holland, England & Italy. He finished off his career with spells at Falkirk, Alloa Athletic and Arbroath, where he was player/coach for a season before retiring in 1991. Personal life His son Graeme Holmes is also a footballer who played for several clubs including Morton. Hamilton ( sco, Hamiltoun; gd, Baile Hamaltan ) is a large town in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. It serves as the main administrative centre of the South Lanarkshire council area. Scotland National Semi-professional Football Team
The Scotland national semi-professional football team was a football team that represented Scotland. The Scotland semi-professional team competed in the Four Nations Tournament and was organised by the Scottish Football Association (SFA). The team was disbanded in 2008, when the SFA board decided to stop providing the finance needed for the team to operate. At the time the team was disbanded, players in the three senior non-leagues, the East of Scotland Football League, Highland Football League and South of Scotland Football League, were eligible for selection. Graeme Holmes
Graeme Holmes (born 26 March 1984 in Motherwell) is a Scottish footballer who plays as a midfielder for Cumbernauld Colts. Career Holmes began his career with Dundee United but made only four appearances (three in the league), all as substitute. A loan spell at Dumbarton for the first part of the 2004–05 season brought him twelve games, but he played no further matches on his return to Tannadice and was released in September 2005. Two months later, he signed for Airdrie Utd. In May 2008, Holmes left Airdrie to join Scottish First Division side Dunfermline Athletic joining up with manager Jim McIntyre, whom he played with while at Dundee United. Unfortunately injury affected his time at ''the Pars'' and he was released at the end of the 2009–10 season, moving on to Greenock Morton, where his father Jim Holmes is considered a legend. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world.
